Things to do in Damascus and the surrounding area:


Biking--Creeper Trail and countless single track trails, 2 bicycle shops (AdventureDamascus.com and SundogOutfitters.com) each offer bike rentals and shuttle service to all area trails. (276) 475-6262; 888-595-BIKE. (Creeper Trail is two blocks away.)

Hiking--The world renowned Appalachian Trail goes thru the center of town.  Also, we are located adjacent to Jefferson National Forest, and the Cherokee National Forest, which offer unlimited hiking and outdoor adventure.  Adventure Damascus.com and Sundog Outfitters.com are Damascus outfitters that can provide information and help with your plans.

Fishing
--Damascus is the confluence of 4 rivers; all providing some of the best trout fishing in the Eastern US.  The area also has two TVA lakes and several smaller lakes for boating, swimming, and fishing.

Horseback--The creeper trail and Iron Mountain are two famous trails, but the area offers unlimited opportunity for riding.

Good coffee--Drop by Mojo's Trailside Coffeehouse for a good cup of coffee and a relaxing time.

Area Attractions

White Top Mountain and Mount Rogers National Recreation Area are the two tallest mountains in the state.  They are auto accessible and offer incredible outdoor opportunities for all ages.  See the wild ponies at the Grayson Highlands State Park.

Crooked Road--Tour the roots of country music.
